Đến trung tâm huyện (cầu Yên Định) hỏi đường ra thị trấn Cồn (cách cầu Yên Định khoảng 8 km). Ở đây có biển chỉ dẫn (phía bên trái): Văn Lý 3 km. Đi theo biển chỉ dẫn, hỏi Nhà thờ đổ.

Nếu đi ô tô khách: đón xe ở bến Giáp Bát, đi chuyến Hà Nội – Nam Định – thị trấn Cồn (hoặc Thịnh Long). Xuống xe, bắt xe ôm vào khu Nhà thờ đổ (3 km).

Thời gian chụp hình nhà thờ đổ đẹp nhất là bình minh (khoảng 5h) và hoàng hôn (khoảng 18h).

Quanh nhà thờ đổ là làng chài, không có dịch vụ nhà nghỉ. Tuy nhiên, ở đây có nhiều lán, chòi dựng tạm để người dân thu mua hải sản. Bạn có thể xin ở nhờ để sáng dậy sớm chụp bình minh và xem kéo lưới, cũng để hiểu hơn cuộc sống người dân làng chài.

Ở đây cá cơm hay còn gọi là cá trổng có rất nhiều. Cá dùng để làm nước mắm.
